Setting up MediaLen.tv on an Amazon Firestick takes about five minutes, and you don't need any technical experience to do it. This guide walks through the whole process, from installing the Downloader app to signing in and watching your first channel.
What you'll need
Before you start, make sure you have the following ready:
- An Amazon Firestick or Fire TV connected to the internet
- Your MediaLen.tv account email and password
- A few minutes of uninterrupted time
If you haven't subscribed yet, visit our Plans page to pick a plan and device count before continuing.
Step 1: Install the Downloader app
Firestick doesn't allow installing apps directly from a web browser, so we use a small helper app called Downloader to fetch MediaLen Player.
- From your Firestick home screen, go to Find > Search.
- Type "Downloader" and select the app from the results.
- Choose Get or Download to install it — it's free.
Enabling apps from unknown sources
Downloader needs permission to install apps from outside the Amazon App Store. Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options, and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources for the Downloader app specifically.
Step 2: Enter your activation code
Open Downloader and you'll see a screen with a URL field.
- Select the URL field and enter the activation code shown on your Installation Guide page.
- Select Go. Downloader will fetch the MediaLen Player installer automatically.
Codes are time-limited for security, so if yours doesn't work, generate a fresh one from the Installation Guide page and try again.
Step 3: Install MediaLen Player
Once the download finishes, Downloader will prompt you to install the app.
- Select Install when prompted.
- Wait for the installation to complete, then select Done.
- You can safely delete the installer file when asked — this just frees up storage and doesn't affect the installed app.
Step 4: Sign in and start watching
- Open MediaLen Player from your Firestick apps list.
- Sign in using the email and password from your MediaLen.tv subscription confirmation.
- Your channels, guide, and library will load automatically.
That's it — you're ready to start watching.
Common installation issues
Most installation problems come down to one of a few common causes.
The activation code isn't working
Codes expire after 15 minutes. Head back to the Installation Guide page, generate a new code, and re-enter it in Downloader.
MediaLen Player won't open
Restart your Firestick from Settings > My Fire TV > Restart, then try opening the app again. If it still won't launch, uninstall and reinstall MediaLen Player using the same Downloader steps above.
The picture is choppy or freezes
Make sure your Firestick has a strong Wi-Fi signal, or connect it via an Ethernet adapter for the most stable connection. See our Anti-freeze technology page for more on how we keep streams smooth during peak hours.
